Seniors finish their “Running Start '' class despite the Coronavirus
May 20, 2020
Nineteen seniors at Hanover-Horton displayed their determination and flexibility by continuing with their Baker College class virtually. The Oral Communications class or "Speech" became an interesting experience for everyone involved. They persisted and finished the class garnering three college credits.
Mrs. Shelley Job teaches the Running Start program with Baker College at the high school. "This is an initiative by Baker that gives students a running start on their college education. The students earn college credit, at no cost to them, and graduate high school ready for college, careers and community."
Hanover-Horton High School was one of the few schools who chose to continue with the class. Students adapted to the "Zoom" meetings and videotaped speeches. These students showed they can overcome obstacles if they try. Go Comets!
Get out your tissues! May 12th would have been the final day of school for our senior class. This isn't the ending that any of us anticipated for their senior year. While we still can't gather together, we wanted to take time to honor them across our campus! A huge thank you to the Hanover-Horton Athletic Boosters for making this happen. We will miss these amazing students and the wonderful contributions they made to make Hanover-Horton a better place!
